We’re camping with the Breezy Elks and this time we brought Peyton with us. We left Thursday afternoon after her nap at the end of a four day rain storm. It poured rain all day Thursday while we were finishing packing and Tom was hooking up the trailer. By the time we got on the road it was just sprinkling and not raining at all when we arrived here.
Peyton was such a goo girl during the set up and helped Nana set up the inside. It’s amazing how much stuff a baby needs! I completely forgot! Because everything’s was so wet And dinner plans had been for “heavy appetizers” Ron Nd LaVonn’s campsite we all decided to go out to dinner and chose a pizza parlor close to the campground. Peyton charmed everyone. We got back around 7, so a few books and it was time for bed (at least for Peyton). Since we put her pack and play in the kitchen Tom and I were quarantined to the bedroom. Since we were pretty tired too, lights were out for us by 10.
On Friday we visited with the other campers and went to the playground. The playground is actually a water park with the water turned off, so Peyton could play on the climbing structures. We played a great game of beanbag baseball, men against women and the guys won. I guess it’s been a long time since they won…was it me?
We had dinner on our own and tucked her in at about 8. A snack and a cocktail (for us, not Peyton) it was time for us to turn in as well. During the night I woke to hear coyotes howling and barking around our camp sight, it was a little unsettling. The next morning some neighbors found their trash strewn around, so apparently they were right around our trailer!
Peyton is absolutely charming everyone here and is having a great time. The sounds of a little one laughing is the best sound in the world.
Nap time keeps us out of the trailer as her pack and play is in the kitchen. Friday we learned that means no lunch until Peyton wakes up…Saturday we learned our lesson and brought everything out first and cooked outside while she slept.
Saturday dinner was pot luck and was delicious.we brought tater tot casserole and everyone loved it, Peyton too!
Sunday we packed up and came home…A very fun trip.
