Pismo Beach

So the winter of 2018/2019 is shaping up to be a very wet one, who wouldn’t plan a trip to the beach in Pismo? We are again with the Breezy Elks group and as always having a great time.

First, I’m sick I caught a cold earlier this week and it’s just getting progressively worse. The good news is there is nothing I have to do this weekend. We arrived here Thursday afternoon Feb 21 and it was cold and threatening rain. Before we could all gather in the clubhouse, we had lighten, thunder and hail! Since we are true Californians we were amazed at this.Dinner was heavy appetizers and everyone brought yummy stuff. I attempted little smokies wrapped in crescent rolls, but I’m apparently going to have to work on that. They were pretty toasty, actually a little burned. Someone told me when using an RV oven you should cook at a lower temperature for a little longer. Good tip, I’ll try that next time.

On Friday the weather cleared, it was very cold but clear, so we took a walk down to the beach. It was surprisingly warmer there and beautiful. Lunch was at a local restaurant and they had fabulous clam chowder (at least that what Tom told me, I can’t taste!) Tom and some of our friends took a walk down to see the monarch butterflies, there is a sanctuary here for them. I however, took a nap…maybe tomorrow.

Dinner on Friday was at the Elks Lodge in Pismo and they served delicious ribs. Again according to Tom 😕😷Saturday morning Tom put a stew on to cook for tonight’s potluck. The clubhouse was mis-booked and we can’t have it tonight, so we’ll be eating at 4:00, hope it’s done in time. Before we left Kristin gave me this fabulous coffee cup, thanks Kristin, it’s now officially my favorite camping coffee cup!

So I did get to see the butterflies and they were glorious!

Hahaha,! I never finished this post and we haven’t been out in a couple of months! I’ll post this before starting our new adventure!
