We left home on March 14 to meet up with our Breezy Elks friends in Coachella for 3 days before moving on to our trip to Louisiana and through the South to Florida for a week at Disney World. Then up the coast to North Carolina before heading back east toward home!
Come join us as we start a three-month journey to see what our beautiful country has to offer. Living on the West Coast, I’m not sure we appreciate the beauty of other parts of the country. Our trip north to Alaska in 2023 was amazing, let’s see what this trip brings.
Just a few photos of the beginning of our journey in our new Brinkley Z2900. I say new, however, as I type this I realize we have now had this rig a full year! How time flies!
Also some photos of our first few days in Coachella, then we were off to Arizona to visit with some friends and family. We stayed at a Harvest Host in Mesa, Arizona. Harvest Host is an organization that we pay yearly for and then stay for free on the grounds of a farm, ranch, museum, whatever is available in the area. When we arrived, we turned into the property and found ourselves in a drainage ditch! Between, Tom, all the neighbors and the host, it was decided we could just back out. Tom did that and ended up with no damage except a little cosmetic dent on the rear bumper! The good news? the host sold fresh eggs and we were able to score a dozen before we left. From there we went on to Kartchner Caverns State Park which was gorgeous, however we were prohibited from taking any photos inside! I thought it was a little strange, but you’ll just have to trust me on this one!
Next we drove four days across Texas to reach Louisiana. We both ended up with the stomach flu so there are no photos and I absolutely do not want to even think about that portion of the trip!
I’ll catch us up in a day or so, but rest assured, we are having a blast in Louisiana!
